There's no better feeling than switching your summer home decor out for fall! And since so many of you love customizing your own decor, our floral team put together an easy guide to build your own cozy fall wreath at home!
What You’ll Need
- Wreath Base: We used an angel vine fern wreath here, but you can use any wreath with a vine backing.
- Faux Stems: Realistic, quality faux greenery stems in varying shades of greens, sizes and shapes, flower stems, and/or a few berries for color.
- Tools: Hot glue gun & wire cutters.
Let’s Build It In 6 Simple Steps
1. Fluff Everything.
Give every leaf and stem a quick “fluff” to spread them out for a full and natural look.

2. Prep Your Stems.
You’ll need to cut most stems so they don’t stick out the back.
For a more organic look: Keep the stems longer.
For a more tailored look: Cut your stems shorter so they stay tucked into the base.

3. Adding Stems.
After you’ve fluffed and cut your stems, you’ll add hot glue to the tips. Then, insert them at an angle into the vine base of the wreath, going underneath existing leaves as you go.
Space those stems out unevenly for a natural look and resist the urge to make it symmetrical!

4. Create A Base.
Start with adding your greenery and leafy stems first. Mixing different leaf styles and shades builds dimension and sets your foundation.

5. Add Your Fall Color.
Weave in your berries and colorful florals using the same technique. Get creative with your placement and remember to make it asymmetrical.

Optional 6th Step: Add a bow!
Follow these steps and you’ll have a gorgeous, custom fall wreath to welcome the season!
